Clinton H. East

Sept. 26, 1938 - Dec. 30, 2022

STOUGHTON - Clinton H. East died on December 30, 2022, at Nazareth Health & Rehabilitation Center, aged 84.

He was born in Evanston, IL, September 26, 1938. Mr. East graduated from Evanston Township High School in 1956, and attended Beloit College and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, from which he received a BA in 1961. He married Irmtraud (Irmy) H. Muetz in Madison, WI, on March 20, 1973. They lived in Stoughton, WI, until 1988, when they moved to Madison. Mr. East worked at the UW School of Library and Information Studies from 1966 until 2000.

He is survived by two sons: Hammond of DeForest, WI, and Russell of Barcelona, Spain; a stepson, Jeffrey Muetz of Aurora, CO; and his sister, Ann DiCastri of Brookfield, WI. Mr. East was preceded in death by two stepsons: Christopher Muetz and Anton Muetz; and his wife, Irmtraud (Irmy) East. Mr. East is also survived by his first wife, Lynne (East) Morris, the mother of his children.
