David Swan Obituary
Dave met his bride, Gail Gitzinger, at the Jolly Green Giant Canning Factory in DePere, Wisc. and were married August 29, 1959, celebrating 66 years of devoted marriage and together they welcomed five beautiful children. Dave led a full life with time in the military and becoming a teacher with the Madison School District in Wisconsin. One of his most favorite places to be was in Wautoma, Wisc. on Silver Lake before relocating and retiring to Goodyear, Ariz.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers. He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Gail; his children, Diane (David) Thomason, Mark (Vicki) Swan, Sara Swan Brayton, Steven (Rebecca) Swan, and Barbara Swan; his sister, Priscilla; his seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Friday, November 14, 2025, at Thompson Funeral Chapel in Goodyear, Ariz. at 11 a.m. Please join us in celebrating this man's incredible life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Ovation Hospice at 410 N. Scottsdale Rd., 1000, Tempe AZ 85288.

Mr. Swan was my 8th grade science teacher and one of the athletic coaches at Van Hise Middle School, 1960, in Madison WI. My memory frames him as a most effective, no-nonsense educator. Much value was garnered in his classroom. Godspeed sir.
