Dennis Domack

GREEN BAY /MADISON - Dennis Domack passed away peacefully at Aurora BayCare Hospital in Green Bay on November 20, 2023.
He was born on January 23, 1940, to Julian and Frances (Gorski) Domack in Marshfield, WI, and married Ruth Phillips on June 19, 1971.
Dennis is survived by sons: Paul (Jennifer), Brian (Alicia), and Tim (Caroline); grandsons: Andrew, Jacob and Phillip; and granddaughters: Addison and Margaret. Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; his parents; brother, Kenneth; sister-in-law, Lisa Domack; and brother-in-law, Lee Bauman.
After serving as a 1st Lieutenant in the Wisconsin Army National Guard,. Dennis enjoyed a successful career as a Professor with the University of Wisconsin Extension and earned the title of Professor Emeritus by the UW Board of Regents upon his retirement. He served as the Community Development Specialist in St. Croix County from 1974-1976, and Dane County from 1976-1996. Additionally, Dennis proudly served on several boards including the Community Development Society, Edgewood High School Board of Trustees, Madison Area Crime Stoppers, Dane County Boys and Girls Club, and Badger State Games. Our Lady Queen of Peace played an important role in Dennis's life where he enjoyed being lector and commentator.
Dennis was always quick with a pun and spent many nights laughing with friends and neighbors at his house, which he often referred to as Cheers, in Fitchburg. His Christmas decorations lit the entire block, and he proudly mowed his manicured lawn several times a week. His smile and humor were contagious, he loved his family, and he will be dearly missed.
In addition to his sons and grandchildren, Dennis is survived by his sister-in-law, Karen Domack; brothers: Tom (Susie) Domack, John (Vicki) Domack, Kevin (Mary) Domack; sisters: Kathy Bauman and Marilyn (Perry) Tormey; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Our Lady Queen of Peace School Endowment or Edgewood High School.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 4, 2023, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 401 S. Owen Drive, Madison. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park and there will be a brief committal service at 3:00 p.m.
