MADISON - Dennis D. Rodgerson Sr., age 93, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022 at his home.
He was born on November 17, 1928 in Tomahawk and was the son of Edward and Florence (Seymour) Rodgerson. Dennis married Josephine Fruth on June 13, 1953 at St. Raphael's Cathedral in Madison.
Dennis was the head of the data entry department at the University of Wisconsin Registrar's office until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, and loved watching the Packers and Badgers.
He is survived by: his wife Josephine; his children Denise (Michael) Cain of Sun Prairie, Randy (Kim), of Sun Prairie, Dennis Jr. (Vicky) of Poynette, Warren (Sue) of El Sobrante, CA and Neil (Sarah) of Sun Prairie; 4 grandchildren, Sarah (Matt) Grosfeld, Evan Cain, Mariah (Robin) Wendt, Cody (Jessica) Rodgerson; 6 great grandchildren Callen, Charlotte, Camden, Caden, Everett and Greyson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus Street in Sun Prairie with Father Tom Kelley presiding. Interment will be at Sacred Hearts Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the Time of service at the Funeral Home. A memorial fund is being established. The family would also like to thank Teri and Al Kindermann and Agrace Hospice for their help and support.
