NEW GLARUS - Dennis Thomas Rupnow, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 28, 2023, while outside doing what he loved.
He was born on February 21, 1961, in Monroe, the son of Donald and Jeanette (Duerst) Rupnow. Dennis graduated from New Glarus High School in 1979, and continued his education at MATC in Madison, graduating with a degree in Photography. On June 6, 1992, he was united in marriage to Renee Duffy at the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus.
Throughout his photography career, he was most often employed as a printer. He most recently thoroughly enjoyed his position as a Digital Cutting Specialist at Park Printing in Verona. Dennis enjoyed all things outdoors; hiking, canoeing, gardening, and cutting wood. He also had a passion for vintage vehicles, and loved tinkering with his 1961 Jeep Willy and his old Ford tractor. He loved time with friends and family, spending special times Up North, and on canoe trips with the guys.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Renee; children: Brandon (Lyndsay) Rupnow, and Bailey (Andrew Mattson) Rupnow; grandchildren: Gage and Hattie; and grand-dogs, Nova and Rex. He is further survived by his parents, Don and Jeanette Rupnow; siblings: Lon (Robin) Rupnow, Larry (Brenda) Rupnow, Diane (Tink Hendricks) Rupnow, and Linda (Rob) Buzogany; father-in-law, Eugene Duffy; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
An open house celebration of Dennis' life will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Edelweiss Chalet Country Club, W4764 Edelweiss Road, New Glarus, WI. A time to share memories and stories will begin at approximately 1:30 p.m.
