Donald Robert "Don" Callahan
Nov. 14, 1968 – Jan. 20, 2024
MADISON - Donald Robert "Don" Callahan, age 55, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024. He was born on Nov. 14, 1968, in Madison, the son of John "Jack" and Sandra "Sandie" (Fiscus) Callahan.
Don graduated from Oregon High School in 1987 and worked as a plumber in the Dane County area. He formerly raced Midget Cars and spent a lot of time working on the pit crew with his cousins, Randy and Aaron Fiscus, and loved every minute of it. He loved going fast while riding motorcycles, driving Midget Cars, boats and jet skis as well as watching NASCAR. He lived fast to say the least.
Don had a big heart and loved to rescue senior cats to give them a good home at the end of their lives. He also loved his role as uncle and cherished his three nieces. He will be fondly remembered for his giving heart and thinking of others before himself. He made friends wherever he would go and had an uncanny ability of never forgetting anyone's name.
Don is survived by his mother, Sandie; brothers, Bill (Melody Wirth) Callahan, and Tony (Gwyn Purdue) Callahan; three nieces, Vayda Callahan, Meeya Callahan, and Sophia Callahan; and godmother, Judy Thompson; and was very close with all of his cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack; and brother, Monty Edward Callahan.
A celebration of life with be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Dane County Humane Society would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

So sorry Sandie, I will not be able to attend Donny's good-by but want to let you know I'd have a hug for him, he alwas hugged me when we'd run into each other out and about. Saddness.
