November 22, 1939 - March 21, 2025
MADISON – Donna Nelson (Krattiger) (Frank), age 85, of Madison, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025. Born on November 22, 1939, in Monroe, Wis., to Milton and Lillian Frank, Donna grew up on a farm in the Yellowstone Lake Area near Blanchardville. This homestead farm was in the Frank family for over 100 years.
After graduating in 1958 from Blanchardville Public Schools, Donna attended Freeport Memorial School of Nursing in Freeport, Ill., graduating in 1962. Her first job as a Registered Nurse was at Methodist Hospital in Madison, Wis. Donna was a licensed Nursing Home Administrator, operating Elm Terrace Nursing Home in Middleton, Wis., with her late husband, Arthur Krattiger. Donna was then employed as a Nursing Supervisor at Central Wisconsin Center for the Developmentally Disabled until her retirement in 2002.
Donna is survived by her two sons, Todd (Bonnie) Krattiger, Cross Plains, Wis., and Kelly Krattiger, Riverside, Calif.; two grandchildren, Angela Krattiger, Madison, Wis., and Kory Krattiger, Minneapolis, Minn.; great-grandson, Raj Krattiger, Madison, Wis.; sister, Debra (Jerry) Hendrickson, Verona, Wis.; and nephews, Steve (Cheryl) Kammerud, Loves Park, Ill., and Dustin Hendrickson, Minneapolis, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Deanna Kammerud; and brother-in-law, Phillip Kammerud.
A memorial service will be held at WEST MIDDLETON LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3763 Pioneer Road, Verona, at 12 noon on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Visitation will be held at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
