Donna Phenix Obituary

Donna Jean Phenix

April 5, 2025

Donna Jean Phenix was born to John and Myrtle Cook, homesteaders in Wyoming, in 1930. Donna left this world on the morning of April 5, 2025 after a long and interesting life.

Donna married Toddy (Ivan) McCann of Gillette, Wyoming in 1947; they had three sons, Jody, Kent, and Tim McCann. Donna relocated to Boulder, Colorado in 1965. She was the accountant for the Boulder Public Health Department, where she worked diligently for many years. In 2023, Donna moved to Madison, WI to be near her son Jody and his family. She later moved to the Capitol Lakes retirement community, where she ended her days.

Donna was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husbands, and all of her eight siblings. Donna is survived by her sons, Jody McCann (Peg), Kent McCann (Stephanie), and Tim McCann (Traci); her step-daughters, Laurie and Carlotta Phenix; her ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Donna was in my water aerobics class at the Y for many years. She was a smart and strong woman with a suble sense of humor thatI really enjoyed. My condolenses to the family.
