Donna Jane Rush

Sept. 21, 1946 – Sept. 19, 2022

BLACK EARTH - Donna Jane (Haack) Rush, age 75, of Black Earth, Wis., passed away on Monday, Sept. 19, 2022. She was born on Sept. 21, 1946, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Frank and Pauline (Arnberger) Haack.

She was a graduate of St. Bernard Catholic School, class of 1960, and Madison East High School, class of 1964. She attended Madison Technical College for accounting in 1966. She was employed for 20 years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, retiring as a financial specialist from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, UW-Madison, in 2006.

On Jan. 22, 1966, she was united in marriage to Lawrence "Larry" Rush of Northlake, Ill. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Madison, Wis. Larry was on active duty with the U.S. Air Force.

Donna had a love for traveling, especially Hawaii, South Carolina, and Florida. Door County, Wis. was a favorite getaway. Donna will always be remembered for her love of playing Euchre, cooking her favorite recipes, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Donna is survived by her husband, Larry Rush of 56 years; four children, Timothy (Susan) Rush, Tanya (Anthony) Thorson, Tamara (Michael) Haack and Travis (Janice) Rush. She is also survived by her sister, Sylvia Fillhouer. She is further survived by 11 grandchildren, Lauren, Rachel, Brandon, Calista, Avaline, Serena, Amber, Addison, Tessa, Audrey, and Colin. Donna was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Kathleen Thurow.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains, Wis. at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022, with the Rev. Father Scott Jablonski and Father Jay Poster presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON CAMACHO BLACK EARTH FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1710 Center St., from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 26, 2022, preceded by a Rosary at 3:30 p.m., which all are invited to attend. A visitation will also be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Tuesday.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of SSM Health Cancer Care Hematology and Oncology, especially Dr. Jaqueline Mullvain, MD, Dr. Timothy Kruser, Radiation Oncologist, and Dr. Clifford Anderson at SSM Health West Madison.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be gifted in Donna's name to St. Francis Xavier Endowment Fund.
