STOUGHTON - Ervin C. Ring, age 92, of Stoughton, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at his farm. He was born on August 7, 1933, in Madison, the son of Conrad and Gladys (Wendt) Ring.

Ervin married Mabel (Halverson) Ring on January 17, 1959, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Stoughton. He dedicated more than 20 years of service to the Stoughton Public Schools and alongside Mabel was a long time member of Covenant Lutheran Church. Ervin had a wide range of interests - mowing his lawn, caring for animals, fishing with his grandsons, watching westerns, and capturing moments with his camera. Above all, he cherished staying closely connected with his family, who remained at the center of his life. Erv and Mabel traveled extensively throughout the world, with their trips to Norway holding a particularly special place in their hearts.

Ervin is survived by his daughters, Lori Ganshert and Beth (Steve) Hanson; grandchildren, Tylor (Chelsea) Hanson, Corey (Isabella Virrueta) Hanson and Chad (Katie) Ganshert; six great-grandchildren with number seven due in May; sister, Mary Ring; brother, Rueben Ring; sister-in-law, Gail Ring; special friend, Tabitha the cat; and other relatives and close friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel in 2015; son-in-law, James "Jim" Ganshert; parents, Conrad and Gladys; brother, Eugene Ring; in-laws, Henry and Karen Halverson; sisters-in-law, Arline Field, Adeline Halverson, Adeline Helgestad and Diane Ring; brother-in-law, Henry Halverson; and two nieces and a nephew.

A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Highway 51 N. at Jackson St., Stoughton, at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2026, with Pastor Wendy Moen presiding. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Sunday.
