Gloria Nolden Obituary

Gloria Jean (Bindl) Nolden

April 3, 1942 - October 25, 2025

PRAIRIE DU SAC - Gloria Jean (Bindl) Nolden, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend was called by the angels while surrounded by family at her home on September 25, 2025, at age 83. She was born to Frank and Marie (Weiss) Bindl on April 3, 1942, and graduated from Prairie du Sac High School in 1960.

On April 15, 1961, she was married to Melvin Nolden at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Sauk City and they went on to build a beautiful life together on what had been her family home farm. Her many acts of generosity are known only to Jesus because she never drew attention to them. She loved flowers and had a faith in God that was beyond compare. She shared both freely with everyone she encountered. She raised flowers, but her favorite flowers were those seated around the dinner table. Her family saw her through the loss of her beloved husband, just three short months ago and surrounded her with love and prayer during her final days.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; her parents-in-law, Henry and Marina Nolden; brother, Fred; in-laws, Harold Zander, Pam Bindl, Lori Nolden, David (Deanna) Nolden, Patti Nolden, and Mary Ann Jocobi; grandchildren, James Nolden and Faith Endres; great-grandchildren, Ava and Allie Mahoney.

She is survived by her siblings, Rita Zander, Daniel and George (Stephanie); in-laws, Marian Bindl, Roger, Don, Victor, Chuck Jacobi and Barb (Gary) Mock; children, Donna (Doug) Nelson, Linda (Brian) Krentz, Ken (Tammi) Nolden, Diane (Les) Endres, Gary (Kimberley) Nolden, Chris (Tim) Francke, Nancy (Vladimir) Sisul, Teresa (Brett) Leeser, Joan O'Brion, and Karen (Curt) Bartnick.

She is also survived by 36 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, 11 a.m. at St. Norbert's Catholic Church, Roxbury, with Father James Kotch officiating. Interment will follow at St. Norbert's cemetery. A visitation will take place at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City, from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

Thank you to Dr. Barclay Shultz, Dr. Mary Campbell, Megan, RN and the rest of the Agrace team, along with Fr. James Kotch who has been a devoted daily blessing to Mom and Dad.

Every home I have ever owned has flowers from Gloria's Garden in them. She was always cheerful and offered advice on what to grow where and would throw in clumps of something to see if I could get it to mature. I'd swing by and drop off extra bags when going to visit my mom in Baraboo. If I came when it wasn't busy because she told me she had just the thing I was looking for out in the field, she'd hop on her moped barefoot and dig up what I was looking for. I envied her being able to spend her days outside digging in the dirt with her children (and grandchildren) around. May you all have enough good memories to carry you through the grief that is here now.
