Zeps, Guntis Aivars
STOUGHTON - Guntis Aivars Zeps (Gunther), age 32, died from a tragic vehicle accident outside of Stoughton, WI.
Guntis was born in College Park, MD and moved to Madison, WI at the age of 5. He attended Crestwood Elementary, Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Madison and graduated from Stoughton High School. He worked several jobs, ultimately, starting a career as a Mail Handler with the USPS in Madison.
First and foremost, Guntis held family and friends very close to his heart. Once you were his friend, you were friends for life! He loved going to Maryland with his dad to visit his big brother, huge family and go "crabbin'." He also enjoyed cheering on his little brother at his cross country races, once driving up to Wisconsin Rapids to watch him run State in the snow. He was his Dad's buddy and loved working on cars with him amongst other projects. Early in his life, he tried many sports, hockey, soccer but found a passion for skateboarding, making many lifelong friends. He also loved all water related activities, in particular fishing. His favorite places to visit were the Dells and Devils Lake with his girlfriend Wende. To say Guntis loved animals is an understatement, his kitties were his children. And, as any proper Wisconsinite should be, he was a rabid Packer fan, in particular, Jordy Nelson (Jooordy!).
Guntis is survived by his parents Ronald "Butch" L. Green (Dana) and Barbara Zeps Richardson (Thomas); his brothers Josh Green and Leo Richardson; his grandmother Betty S. Zeps and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews all over the country. He is predeceased by his "person" Wende Geier; paternal grandparents, Robert A. Green and Helen M. Coombs; maternal grandfather Valdis J. Zeps.
Guntis you will be missed desperately. You saved my life and will forever be my angel, I love you, Mom. We tried so hard.
