April 26, 1941 - September 5, 2025
MADISON - Harleen Jean Rector, age 84, of Madison, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Chamomile Assisted Living. She was born on April 26, 1941, in Madison, the daughter of Floyd Colvin and Remelda (Baker) Colvin Harrington.
Harleen was a caregiver at Elder Care.
Harleen loved her family very much and cherished every moment with them. She was proud to have five living generations in the family. She spent a lot of time with her friends at the assisted living facility and enjoyed her time with them. Harleen loved fishing and only used a cane pole instead of a rod and reel.
She enjoyed reading, especially books about love and "old time" stories. She enjoyed listening to Motown and 50s music and sometimes even dancing along. More than anything she loved animals, especially her own. Harleen was a simple woman who loved the small things in life.
Harleen is survived by her son, Robert (Tari) Rector; daughters, Theresa Rector and Dawn Gundlach; grandchildren, Robert Rector, Derek Rector, Deina McCord and Stefani Rector; eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles Rector; daughter, Jackie Rector; and brothers, Floyd Colvin Jr. and Alden Colvin.
A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. Burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025, and also from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
