Crook, Kara M.
MAZOMANIE / LYNDON STATION - Kara M. Crook died peacefully with family by her side at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wis., on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021. She was 44 years old.
Kara was a lover of music, gardening, photography, and an amateur astronomer. She loved stargazing and received a certification for visually observing all 110 Messier objects in the night sky. She was creative and could crochet just about anything. She took joy in making other people happy with her art and frequently sold her work at craft shows. She had a kind heart, sassy wit, and a big smile. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
As one last selfless act on earth, Kara was an organ donor. Her legacy will continue to live on, through the lives of others.
Kara is survived by her children, Gianna and Nadia; her father, James Crook; brother, Michael (Lydia) Crook; and sister, Keely Crook; as well as her nieces, Ariana, Chloe and Adalynn. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Cockroft.
Kara's family expresses heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the staff at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center and UW Organ and Tissue Donation for their kind and compassionate care.
Due to COVID restrictions, a celebration of life will be planned at a later date, and we will announce this information on Facebook. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hope House in Baraboo, https://www.hopehousescw.org/donate.html, or to the family.
