Blaschka, Karen L.
MADISON - Karen L. Blaschka, 79, of Madison, passed away April 15, 2021. She was born in Madison, Wis., on Oct. 31, 1941, to K. Louis "Louie" and Madolin "Jackie" (O'Dwyer) Sather. She graduated from Madison West High School in 1959. She was employed for 32 years as a clerical for the Wisconsin State Board of Health and UW System Administration.
She loved her grandkids and great-grandkids, always enjoying their musical and sporting events. Favorite pastimes were reading, crossword puzzles, music, popcorn and a cold beer.
She will forever be remembered by her son, Jeff Hoverson; four bonus sons, Bill (Marianne), Mike, Randy (Sharon), and Brian Blaschka; and an incredible group of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She will meet up in the land of sky blue waters with her husband of 22 years, Wilmer "Bill" Blaschka; her parents; sisters, Pat and Jane; and her daughter, Sandy Hoverson.
At her request, there will be no formal memorial service.
Special thanks to SSM Health nurses and doctors for providing wonderful care in her time of need. Also, special thanks to Miller Brewing for her one Genuine Draft at 5 p.m., but sometimes two if she was feeling a little squirrelly.

My sincere condolences for your loss. Karen was a very dear friend as I worked with Karen at UW System on the 15th floor. May she R.I.P.

I was so sad to hear about Karen's death We were great friends having worked together in the Purchasing Department at UW System. In later years we got together twice a month with other friends for lunch and/or breakfast. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this sad time. May they experience God's comfort and peace.
