Stoughton - Karen Ellen Cornell, age 83, entered eternal life on June 14, 2025. She was born December 19, 1941, in Milwaukee, to the late Dewey Plaumann and Catherine (Heimann) Schwamb. She married John Cornell on October 5, 1966.
Karen loved being surrounded by her family and making moments spent together special. She enjoyed doing for others throughout her earthly life. She worked in health insurance retiring from WPS; she also worked at Kohl's Department store.
Karen is survived by her children, John Jr. (Bonnie) Cornell, Jeffrey Cornell, and Kari Potkay; her granddaughter, Ashley Cornell; her brothers-in-law, Tom, Mike(Jean), Richard(Joan); and sister-in-law, Renee; nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John; her parents; her sisters, Jean Ann Phillips and Donna Rae Phillips; her son-in-law, Peter Potkay.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at St Peter's Lutheran Church, 1708 W. 6th Ave., Broadhead, Wis. with Rev. Tyler Swiderski presiding. A luncheon will follow the service, and burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery South in Stoughton. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral at the church on Saturday.
