Kenneth Siekert Obituary

Kenneth Siekert

February 17, 1944 - December 22, 2024

Madison – Kenneth W. Siekert, age 80, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the UW Hospital in Madison. He was born February 17, 1944, in Chicago, Ill., to the late William and Bernice Siekert of Fall River, Wis. He served his country in the US Army from 1965 to 1967 stationed at Madigan General Hospital in Tacoma, Wash. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1970 with a BS in Economics. Kenneth married Vicki R. Schmitt on November 5, 1977, in Madison, Wis.

Kenneth worked for Madison Silos for 10 years as a crew leader, truck driver and dispatcher and for Harlan Industries for 30 years as trucking division manager.

Kenneth enjoyed running and traveling. He was a lifelong fan of the Wisconsin Badgers and the Green Bay Packers. He was a devoted father, coaching some of the kids' sports teams and following their education and careers. He was particularly proud of his daughter's career in logistics and his son's status as an attorney. In retirement, he loved to spend the winter months in some warm location, picking a new spot every year.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Vicki; son, Benjamin (Amber); daughter, Emily; grandsons, Noah and Charlie Siekert; and granddog, Max.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margaret (Glenford) Demro of Beaver Dam; and his beloved dog, Corky.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2024, at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3325 E. Washington Ave., Madison, Wis. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
