Kevin Dabbs

MADISON - Kevin Dabbs, age 64, of Madison Wis., passed away on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at his home. He was born on June 7, 1959, in Tulare, Calif., the son of Glen Dabbs and Charline (Sparks) Higgins.
Kevin, age 15, and Nancy (Denney) Dabbs, age 13, met while Kevin was walking his dog down the street. The two remained inseparable and were married on Aug. 15, 1981, in Tulare, Calif. Their love was a testament to the enduring power of commitment and partnership. Their bond will be remembered as a shining example of love's strength.
Kevin began his career in epilepsy and neuroimaging in the Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in 2004. Kevin became an integral part of the UW Epilepsy Research group collaborating with researchers in neuropsychology, neurology, and radiology. Kevin was noted for his attention to detail and integrity. As a researcher, Kevin was well respected and admired. Even more importantly, Kevin was noted to be trustworthy, kind, and generous. Kevin was always telling stories about his family revealing his love for wife, sons and grandchildren. Kevin was always open to have a good laugh and always enjoyed life. His warmth and kindness will be greatly missed.
Kevin loved spending time with his nine grandchildren and had a special bond with each one. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and had a love of music. He was very handy with about anything and everything whether it was at home or work. Kevin also loved working in the yard, sci-fi movies, and astronomy. Kevin always looked forward to driving around in his pick-up truck with his German Shepard, Reagan, riding in the back.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Nancy; three sons, Kyle (Amber) Dabbs, and their children Kaden (16), Konner (10), Korbin (9); Derek (Kristina) Dabbs, and their children, Kemma (7), Dax (4), Dawson (2); and Dylan (Felicia) Dabbs and their children, Alexander (11), Dayton (8) Kassadi (1); sister, Tina Dabbs; mother-in-law, Margie Denney; several nieces, nephews, as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, Claude Denney, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
