Kristi Jean (Conom) Davidson

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - Kristi Jean (Conom) Davidson, 61, of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away after her courageous battle with cancer on Friday, April 12, 2024, at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, IA.
She was born on February 18, 1963, in Madison, WI, to George and Betty Conom. Kristi graduated with honors from Sun Prairie High School in 1981, earning multiple varsity letters in Tennis (MVP), Basketball, and Softball, winning the Knights of Columbus State Free Throw Shooting Championship, and was on Homecoming Court. She started college at the University Wisconsin-Eau Claire, again earning Honor Roll, was on Homecoming Court, and played on the University Softball Team. Kristi transferred to the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, earning her degree in 1985 in Recreation Management, and started her career at Cherokee Country Club in Madison.
She met her husband Mike Davidson through softball. Kristi and Mike married September 20, 1986 in Madison, and started their lives together in Cedar Rapids. She continued her career at Westfield Tennis Club.
Kristi will be remembered for many things, most importantly her bright smile and kind personality. Kristi devoted herself to her family and faith, was known for her love of sports, especially watching her children compete and perform. Nothing brought Kristi more joy than Mike, their children, and grandchildren.
When she was not caring for her own children, Kristi made a difference with children working at Hoover Elementary School, and at Stonebridge Church in Cedar Rapids. She impacted many lives with her positive attitude and outlook on life!
Kristi is survived by her loving husband, Mike; children: Nicole (Bobby) Steggall, Ashley (Brandt) Anderson, Kaitlyn Davidson (Mitch), Tyler Davidson (Sam); grandchildren: Kason Steggall and Annie Anderson; parents, George and Betty Conom; siblings: Jamie (Tammy) Conom, Brian (Jonelle) Conom; mother-in-law, Burnette Davidson; brother-in-law, Pat; and sister-in-law, Cathy Davidson; nieces: Emily Davidson, Hannah Davidson, Jenna Sleep (Conom); nephews: Josh Conom, Ryan Conom, Ben Davidson, Aidan Conom, Elijah Conom; and grand-dogs: Tucker, Journey, Kai, and Poppy. Kristi was proceeded in death by her father-in-law, Richard Davidson.
To know Kristi, was to love Kristi. She is loved to heaven and back!
A visitation/funeral was held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Stonebridge Church, with burial the following day at Cedar Memorial Cemetery. In honor of Kristi's bright personality, attendees were invited to wear any color that made them happy.
