Larry Davis Obituary
He is survived by his wife Georgette of 66 years, daughter Rhonda Davis (Steve Onken), and daughter Marilyn Davis (Peter Clay).
Larry excelled in academics and his professional career. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Dubuque in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science degree, attended graduate school in the doctoral program in Physiology at the University of Wisconsin - Madison earning his PhD in 1961, then joined the faculty of the Department of Physiology at the UW-Madison Medical School in 1963 where he worked until his retirement in July 1995. During his career at UW-Madison his successful work in cardiovascular research earned him the Wisconsin Heart Association Outstanding Researcher Award in 1974. He especially enjoyed teaching and was honored when his students voted to award him the Medical Alumni Distinguished Teaching Award twice, in 1988 and 1993. In recognition of his many contributions to the University and the Physiology Department, he was awarded Emeritus Status in June 1996.
Larry was passionate about being outdoors and loved taking care of the family cabin, working in the woods, and enjoying the companionship of many dogs.
Remembering his sense of humor, wit, and wonderful family memories will guide us through the sorrow of losing him. His wish for no funeral will be honored.
The family would like to thank Ingleside Communities and Agrace for the excellent care provided to Larry by their wonderful and caring staff.

Our deepest sympathies to you Georgette, Rhonda & Marilyn. A lot of great memories of hunting at the cabin in Spring Green and grouse hunting up north with Larry, Jerry and Dad (Don Zuther). When I obtained my own hunting land Larry was there and helped to take down trees and share his knowledge on wildlife habitat. Always enjoyed our phone conversations and sharing photos of our deer. I will always remember the great times my boys and had visiting the Spring Green cabin each year before deer hunting season
We were always welcomed with open arms, cold beer, cheese
and sausage. Something we will remember for ever.

I remember Larry Davis from the days in Dubuque, Iowa when he was courting Georgette. Larry was a friendly, fun guy to be around. I have many good memories of Larry.
