Lee Moritz Obituary

Lee Harvey Moritz

MONONA - Lee Harvey Moritz, 74, of Monona, Wis., sadly passed away on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024.

Lee was born in Sheboygan, Wis., in 1950, to Harriet and Manfred Moritz. He grew up in nearby Kiel as one of three siblings. After childhood he received a degree in mechanical engineering from UW-Madison. Life led him back to his hometown where he would eventually meet and marry his wife, Mari-Lynn. The two later settled in Monona where they would welcome two daughters, Kelly and Molly, into the world.

Throughout his life, Lee remained highly active and enjoyed frequent bike rides around Lake Monona. In his remaining spare time, he loved keeping up to date on all Wisconsin sports. Whether it be the Badgers, Packers, or the Brewers, he always made sure to watch the game on TV if he was not there in person. His passion for sports overlapped with his love for cars. He looked forward to his annual trips to watch races at Elkhart Lake and the Indianapolis 500 where he made memories with some of his closest friends.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Gary. He is survived by his wife, Mari-Lynn; daughter, Kelly; son-in-law, Jeff; daughter, Molly; grandson, Graham; sister, Lynn; brother-in-law, Mike; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024.
