Lois Jean Vial

MADISON- Lois Jean Vial, age 89, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, at Sienna Crest. She was born on Jan. 27, 1934, in Edmund, Wis., the daughter of Claire and Gladys (Hanson) Thorison.
Lois graduated from Mineral Point High School. She married the love of her life, Ernest Elmo Vial, on Jan. 28, 1950, in Linden.
Lois' family was very important to her. She put the needs of both her family and friends first. She always had an open door and enjoyed baking and sharing treats with anyone who stopped in to visit. Lois loved being outdoors gardening and watching the Packers and Brewers.
Lois is survived by her children, Eugene Vial, Vickie Williams and Terry Vial; grandchildren, Kristine, Alex, Matt, Tyler, Megan, Heather, Chandra, Erica, Tim, Kaley, Travis and Austin; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Noble and Mary Mussehl; daughters-in-law, Lisa Zimmerman and Denise Vial; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Gary and Rick Vial; daughter, Sheila Scheder; brother, Claire Jr.; son-in-law, Brad Williams; and daughter-in-law, Linda Vial.
A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of the service on Thursday.
The good Lord finally needed a really good Pasty, so he called the very best home.
A celebration of Lois' life with be held at a later date.
