MADISON - Loran M. Mezera, age 72, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023, at UW Hospital.
He was born on May 7, 1951, in Prairie du Chien, WI, to George and Lillian (Farrell) Mezera. In 1976, he was united in marriage to Kaye Faust in Madison, Wisconsin.
Loran graduated from Madison East High School in 1970. He was drafted in 1970 and served until January 1973. He was then employed by the Wisconsin National Guard until he retired in 2001 as a technician at OMS9. Loran was then employed at the University of Wisconsin food services until 2013 when he retired. Loran then enjoyed his retirement tinkering on his hot rod.
Loran is survived by his wife, Kaye; sons: Michael (Silvie), and Matthew (Trista); four of the most beautiful grandchildren: Everly, Oliver, Everett, Eoin, who will miss their papa. Loran is also survived by two sisters: Maureen (Patrick) Kennedy, and Delores Jones; mother-in-law, Joyce Faust; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Loran was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Robert Faust; and brother-in-law, Douglas Jones.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
