Margaret Perham (Hobbins) Johnson
SPRING GREEN - Margaret Perham (Hobbins) Johnson, age 88, of Spring Green, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on May 27, 2024 at UW Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, the love of her life and best friend, John "Jack" Johnson; children: Eric (Gina), Jeff (Mary Lynn), Peggy (Jim) Ring, Jennifer (Chad) Kannenberg; fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, sister, Ann Quisling; brother-in-law, Paul Johnson, and sister-in-law, Marcia Johnson. Preceding her in death were her mother and father, Margaret and John Hobbins; brother, John; daughter, Jacquie Conti (Johnson), and grandson, John Conti.
Margaret was a graduate of Madison West High School and UW-Madison where she was a proud member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and where she also met her sweetheart Jack. During their loving relationship, the two of them were fortunate to travel to many destinations as well as spend regular time in Bonita Springs, FL, to share lasting memories. She was a true fan of Badger Athletics and the UW Marching Band, an avid golfer and golf follower who also enjoyed her seasonal flowers, birds and butterflies.
Margaret loved family time and holiday get togethers. She especially enjoyed up north pontoon rides, campfires, and Fourth of July celebrations with all the grandchildren up north at the lake at Camp J. Her time spent with family and friends created many memories for all to cherish.
As she said, "getting old ain't for sissies," she fought her recent health battle with absolute strength and courage.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church in Spring Green, WI. The family is encouraging those in attendance to wear red or Wisconsin Badgers apparel in honor of Margaret's love for the Wisconsin Badgers.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Margaret can be made to River Valley Music Boosters or Spring Green Art Fair.
