Margaret Johnson Obituary

Margaret Perham (Hobbins) Johnson

SPRING GREEN - Margaret Perham (Hobbins) Johnson, age 88, of Spring Green, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on May 27, 2024 at UW Hospital.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, the love of her life and best friend, John "Jack" Johnson; children: Eric (Gina), Jeff (Mary Lynn), Peggy (Jim) Ring, Jennifer (Chad) Kannenberg; fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, sister, Ann Quisling; brother-in-law, Paul Johnson, and sister-in-law, Marcia Johnson. Preceding her in death were her mother and father, Margaret and John Hobbins; brother, John; daughter, Jacquie Conti (Johnson), and grandson, John Conti.

Margaret was a graduate of Madison West High School and UW-Madison where she was a proud member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and where she also met her sweetheart Jack. During their loving relationship, the two of them were fortunate to travel to many destinations as well as spend regular time in Bonita Springs, FL, to share lasting memories. She was a true fan of Badger Athletics and the UW Marching Band, an avid golfer and golf follower who also enjoyed her seasonal flowers, birds and butterflies.

Margaret loved family time and holiday get togethers. She especially enjoyed up north pontoon rides, campfires, and Fourth of July celebrations with all the grandchildren up north at the lake at Camp J. Her time spent with family and friends created many memories for all to cherish.

As she said, "getting old ain't for sissies," she fought her recent health battle with absolute strength and courage.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church in Spring Green, WI. The family is encouraging those in attendance to wear red or Wisconsin Badgers apparel in honor of Margaret's love for the Wisconsin Badgers.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Margaret can be made to River Valley Music Boosters or Spring Green Art Fair.

Dear Hobbins-Johnson family, uncle Jack, to Aunt Anne also and Hobbins-Quislings, and our many 1st, 2nd cousins there in beautiful Spring Green Wisconsin.
We offer you our sincere condolences from the James Benjamin Hobbins family. My heart broke the first time when we lost Jackie some time ago, and it breaks again for you all, Jack, for me with Margaret's passing.
I posted a timeless Wisconsin Football Victory TD photo, to assist Margaret in her smiles upon us all, as we all say, On Wisconsin!
Condolences from us: my Hobbins-Lesauvage girls - your cousins Ashley-Anne and Savanna-Marie born in Paris, FR and their Dad, born 2nd to Margaret's brother John Perham Hobbins (who passed on MLK Day January 18th early 2016 in Cedar Hill TX and buried as "Lt John Perham Hobbins US Army" at Dallas Ft Worth National Cemetery) and Annie Forsberg who passed May 3rd 2019 in her Madison home on the North Shores of Lake Mendota.

Margaret is with her brother John, and Jackie Johnson-Conti now. She is also with her Dad John Suhr Hobbins and Margaret Mary Perham, her grandpa Wm James Hobbins and grandma Bertha Beatrice Suhr.

There are so many fond memories we share together as families over the decades. We love you Aunt Margaret, great Aunt to my girls, and we will see you one day soon.

XOXOXO to our Margaret, to Jack and Annie, and to all my dear and wonderful cousins. We are with you all in these times of sorrow with her passing.
