Margery Schappe Obituary
Margery J. Schappe, known fondly as Marge to her friends and family, left this world on February 6, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on March 21, 1943, in Madison, Wisconsin, Marge grew up to be an intelligent, loving, and generous woman, whose warmth touched everyone she met. Her final days were spent surrounded by the love of her family in Verona, Wisconsin, where she peacefully succumbed to Alzheimer's Disease.
Marge's life was one of dedication and service, both in her professional and personal endeavors. Her career was marked by her role as a Risk Manager and Corporate Secretary, where she showcased her expertise in the field of Commercial Real Estate at Vogel Brothers Building Corporation. Her colleagues remember her as a pillar of strength and wisdom, someone who could always be relied upon for her sharp insights and unwavering support.
Beyond her professional life, Marge was deeply involved in the MadCity Corvette Club, where she shared her passion for sleek cars and the open road with fellow enthusiasts. It was this same passion that often led her to the scenic routes of Wisconsin, a place where she found great joy and freedom.
Marge's zest for life was evident in her many interests. She had an ear for music, a talent for gardening, and a love for cooking that made her family dinners on Sundays a cherished tradition. Her recipes and the laughter that filled her kitchen will be remembered as some of the most delightful moments by her loved ones.
But perhaps Marge's most treasured role was that of a matriarch. She was the beloved wife of Rick Schappe, with whom she shared a life full of love and mutual respect. Together, they raised a family that includes their son, Mark (Kelly) Schappe, and daughter, Missy (James) Arnett. Marge's family also extended across the globe to include her Turkish daughter, Ilgu Ozler (Brian Obach), whom she held close to her heart.
The joy of being a grandmother was one of Marge's greatest pleasures. She doted on her grandchildren, Christian (Jacque) Arnett, Zakary Arnett, and Jordyn Schappe, imparting wisdom and creating memories that will live on as her legacy. Her nurturing spirit also extended to her many beloved nieces and nephews, each of whom she loved as her own.
Marge's life was a testament to her character - one of resilience, kindness, and an ever-present capacity to give. Her absence will be felt deeply by those who were fortunate enough to know her, but the impact she made on their lives will continue to resonate.
As we say goodbye to Margery J. Schappe, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey filled with purpose, and a heart that was always open. She may have left this world, but her spirit remains, guiding and inspiring us. Marge's story is not one of sorrow, but a beautiful narrative of a life that was cherished, a soul that was honored, and a woman who was truly loved. Her memory will be held in the highest regard, a beacon of love and generosity that continues to shine bright.
