Donald E. Schappe, of St. Charles, MO, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the age of 85. He is survived by his wife, Jackie of 59 years, brothers, Tom, Jim, and Mike (Ann) Schappe. He was the son of the late Clarence and Louise Schappe.
Donald owned the True Value Store in O’Fallon for 30 plus years. He was the piano player for the Swing Kings Band. He loved sports and he was a graduate of St. Louis University and was the Billiken mascot.
Donald was a member of the Boys & Girls Club, Cuivre River Foundation, Crider Center for Mental Health, School of Autism, O’Fallon Community Center, O’Fallon Kiwanis, St. Charles Rotary, and Sisters of the Most Precious Blood Advisory Board.
Memorials may be made in Donald 's name to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, St Vincent de Paul at St Cletus Catholic Church, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
He was filled with love and laughter and made everyone he met feel special. He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed, especially by all of his nieces and nephews.
