MADISON - Marilou Scallon (Jeffcott), age 79, of Madison, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025, at SSM Health-St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on January 1, 1946, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of James and Grace (Gruber) Scallon.
She worked for many years as a legal secretary, retiring from Axley Brynelson Law Firm, retiring in 2015.
Marilou was a faithful member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and was a volunteer at VFW in Northern Virginia. She helped care for her neighbors and found solace in reading. Marilou loved spending time with her family, especially visiting all the local spots in Madison with them.
Marilou is survived by her son, Scott (Jeannine) Haak; grandsons, Dylan (Cara) Haak and Ryan Haak; and nieces and a nephew and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grace and James; and brothers and a sister.
A memorial service will be held at Gunderson East Funeral and Cremation Care, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Monday, April 28, 2025, with Father Mark Foley presiding. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be gifted in Marilou's name to the Alzheimer's Association, https://www.alz.org/wi. The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Mary's Hospital for all of their wonderful care given to Marilou. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
