Martha Stromquist Obituary
December 8, 1938 - March 29, 2025
Oregon - Martha Mildred Stromquist, age 86, of Oregon, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Meriter Hospital in Madison surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 8, 1938, in Holcombe, Wis., the daughter of Gus and Ruth (Hunt) Nelson.
Martha graduated from East High School in Superior, Wis., She married her childhood sweetheart, Ralph Stromquist, on July 25, 1959, in Superior. She worked as a homemaker and raised her children with love and care.
Martha was a life-long tennis player and still played at the age of 80. She was an avid swimmer, swimming almost every day in her beloved pond from April until October. She was also in the same bridge club for over 50 years. She loved every kind of outdoor activity but especially loved playing horseshoes.
Martha is survived by her loving husband of over 65 years, Ralph; her son, Brian Stromquist; grandchildren, Amanda Stromquist, Armen Stromquist, Emily Hylton, and Erica Turrell; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Gus; and daughter, Marilyn Turrell.
A funeral service will be held at FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 408 North Bergamont Ave., Oregon, at 12 p.m., on Saturday, April 5, 2025, with Pastor Jo Wiersema presiding. Burial will follow at Town of Dunn Burying Ground. A luncheon will follow back at the church. Visitation will be held at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

We was a wonderful, caring friend
She was always willing to help everyone. I always admired her energy and spunk. She was the "energizer bunny" in our neighborhood Our sincere sympathy to u and Brian. Tom and jean choate. We are in Fla so unable to attend her funeral but are hearts will be with u on April 5
