Nicholas Ladas Obituary
April 24, 1934 - March 28, 2025
La Valle/Sun Prairie - Nicholas P. Ladas, age 90, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025. He was born in Chicago on April 24, 1934, the son of Peter and Georgia Ladas. Nick enlisted in the US Army and served his country honorably from 1955 until 1957. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Kalesperis on June 19, 1960, in Chicago. Together they enjoyed raising their four sons and building their dream home on the lake in La Valle where they hosted many family gatherings.
Nick was a very devout Christian and a devoted member of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. He worked as an insurance agent for many years until his retirement in 2004. Nick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and loved spending time with his family.
Nick is survived by three sons, Peter, Tony and Mike (Patty); 15 grandchildren, Stephanie, Alissa, Nicholas S., Nicholas A., Elizabeth, Casandra, Christopher, George, Brennan, Nicholas P., Ellie, Lukas, Kaden, Zoe and Nicholas M.; two great-grandchildren, Steven N. and Navy; brother, Anthony "Tony" (Betty); and two sisters, Tonia Alex and Carol (Dave) Skorchet. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth; son, Steven; brother, Christ; and brother-in-law, Sam Alex.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 11 N. Seventh Street, Madison, with the Very Rev. Father Christodoulos Margellos presiding. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, following the burial, in the Cress Community Room, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service at church on Friday.
