Patricia Acker Obituary

Acker, Patricia Jean "Pat"

MIDDLETON - Patricia Jean "Pat" Acker, age 79, of Middleton, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021. She was born on March 24, 1942, in Auburn, Neb., the daughter of John Jurgensmeier and Cecilia (Kohmetscher) Jurgensmeier.

She moved from Nebraska to Black River Falls, Wis., with her parents to join her sister and her family. Pat came to Madison to look for a job, and roomed with a couple of ladies who were dating men from the Ashton area, which is how she met Dan. She married Daniel T. Acker in Middleton on Oct. 26, 1963.

Pat was a fabulous mother who enjoyed being a homemaker. She also babysat a lot of neighborhood kids, and was a second mother to many. When Darrell went to school, Pat started a long career as an administrative assistant at St. Benedict Center until she retired in 2007. In retirement she loved her monthly breakfasts with friends, gardening, concerts, and most importantly, time with family, especially with her great-grandkids, to whom she was known as "Grandma Great."

Patricia is survived by her daughters, Kim (Will) Hensen, Karen Brunner, Nancy (Jim) Kovars and Marcia Doll; son, Darrell Acker; grandchildren and their families, Corrin (Scott) Maier and their children, Owen, Addison, Hayden and Calvin; Kyle (Megan) Hensen and their children, Koltyn and Hoyt; Nathan (Nicki) Hensen and their children, Rynlee, Lindyn and Farryn; Brent (Jess) Hensen and their son, Barrett; Kayla (Damien) Thiede and their children, Kitalyn and Taelyn; Michael Brunner; Alyssa Kovars (Brian Lenz); Alex Kovars; and Nik Doll (Jordyn Thaves); and sister-in-law, Darlene Endres. "Aunt Patty" is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Betty Grube and Lucille Gerdes; sisters-in-law, Mary Voss, Annette Thompson and Gladys Boeker; brother-in-law, Joe Acker Jr.; and sons-in-law, Keith Brunner and Joe Doll.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave., Middleton, at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021. Burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery.
