Gilliland, Richard L.
APPLETON - Dr. Richard L. Gilliland, age 87, passed away with his wife by his side on Friday, July 2, 2021, at his home in Appleton. He was born in Akron, Ohio, on May 26, 1934, the son of Clyde and Agnes (Syverud) Gilliland.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Karen; son, Michael (Bonnie); daughters, Kellie (fiancé, Perry Paulson) Pagel and Erin (Ron) Resop; two step-daughters, Heather Turner and Angela Dressback; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tracy; and a grandson, Dustin.
A funeral service will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, on Saturday, July 17, at noon. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to the Huntington's Disease Society of America, 505 Eighth Ave. / Suite 902, New York, NY 10018.

Dr. Gilliland was my chiropractor in St. Petersburg, Florida years ago. He was always kind, friendly, and smiling. Although he closed his practice long ago, the building remains and I think of him every time I pass it. Since I had not seen him in such a long time, I was surprised and amazed at his large extended family. My condolences to all, especially to the youngest family members.
