Richard "Dick" Gordon Marshall
July 3, 1956 - July 5, 2022
RICHLAND CENTER - Richard "Dick" Gordon Marshall passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022, two days after his 66th birthday.
Dick was born in Richland Center on July 3, 1956, to Audrey Beth (Wallace) and Gordon Louis Marshall. He enjoyed nearly 40 years of marriage with Barbara Lynn Strang. They were married on February 19, 1983. Dick found the greatest peace in being outside, whether that meant hunting Grandmas Valley or "the green farm," fishing a trout stream or Lake Superior, or snowshoeing somewhere outside Bayfield. Spending time outdoors with his family was his happy place no matter where he was.
Dick started working at Strang Heating and Electric after marriage and he and Barb bought the business from Holly and Eleanor Strang in 1986. Though he fished more than worked as of late (as he preferred), over the years he made endless connections and friendships from his time at Strangs and was proud of the success of Strangs and all his employees that have made the company a local institution.
Dick is survived by his wife, Barb; daughters: Mariah Marshall (Dave Donaldson) of Seattle, WA, Callie (Logan) Cannon of Belleville, WI; granddaughters: Emma and Riley Cannon; brother, Dean Marshall (Lynn Riemann) of Big Lake, MN; sister-in-law Pam McCleese of Bloomington, MN; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jean and Jeff Alt of Spring Green, WI; special cousin, Rollie Marshall of Wallowa, OR; close friends: Rick Marske and the Ganders; also many other relatives and friends.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; brother Jack Marshall; father and mother-in-law, Holly and Eleanor (Nelson) Strang; and brother-in-law, John McCleese.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Pratt Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 2:00 PM.
