Richard Severson Obituary
March 6, 1943 - August 31, 2025
WAUNAKEE- Richard "Dick" Severson passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025. He was born on March 6, 1943, in Waukegan, Ill., to Alta (Juhl) and Roy Severson.
Dick was a member of Lakeview Lutheran Church. He graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1961, and married his high school sweetheart, Pam, in 1962. Dick retired from Aramark (FW Means) in 1998 after working there for 36 years. He was active in Rockford, Ill., Jaycees and served as director of youth and sports for the Boys Club. While in Rockford, he served as chairman of Junior Olympics and Jaycees Boys Club basketball. He was also a member of the Moose Club and the American Legion SAL481 in Westport and Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. Dick and Pam spent much time in the winter at their condo in Fort Walton Beach.
Dick is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Pam; and his twin sons, John (Lori) and Joseph. He is also survived by his nephew, Darrell (Barb) Severson; grandchildren, BreAnna, Joshua, Kayla, Jessica, Rebekah and Hannah (Jorge); stepgranddaughter, Elyssa; and lots of great-grandchildren including, Naevon, Yovanni, Atreyu, Hunter, Malachi, Emmy and another baby due the end of December. Dick will miss his little Schnauzer, Artie, who brought him a lot of joy. He will also be missed by his dear friends, Dee Adams, Colleen and Larry Miller, and neighbors at Westshire Village in Westport.
A celebration of life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, Wisc., at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
Memorials may be gifted in Dick's name to Lakeview Lutheran Church.
