Paynter, Robert Lee
BROOKLYN - With deepest sorrow, we announce that Robert Lee Paynter passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021, after a 15-month battle with cancer. Those who knew Robert, even for just a limited time, lost a shining light in their lives. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and simple pleasures.
Robert (Bob) was born on June 28, 1986. He was an old soul with an open mind and true wisdom. Robert's first love was for all things related to hunting and fishing. He made a million heart-stirring memories on his trips to the family cabin in Tomahawk, Wis., and annual excursions with friends and family. Later, he found a passion for general construction and truly became a jack-of-all-trades. Robert also put his skills to work on several beloved pickup trucks, boats, and other recreational vehicles. His efforts were never without certain choice words, but he was always an amazing problem solver.
He will forevermore be remembered for his sense of humor, contagious laugh, and willingness to help anyone in need. We are sure that Robert is sitting with a PBR, making new friends, and asking if they want to arm wrestle--double-or-nothing, left handed.
Robert will be missed every day by his Father, Lee Paynter; his Mother, DeAnn (Hunt) Paynter; the love of his life, Ashley Kortte; Uncle Jim and Aunt Connie Paynter; Uncle Dan and Aunt Megan Hunt; Uncle Tom and Aunt Christia Hunt; Uncle Phil and Aunt Laurie Woodworth; Aunt Judy and Uncle Allan Wiedel; Aunt Debbie and Uncle Stan Olson; Aunt Georgia Pearson; and many, many cousins.
We know Robert is with both sets of grandparents, Howard and Carol Hunt, and Bob and Virginia Paynter, along with his favorite dogs, Nick, Polly, and Lady.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12 noon until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021 at Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home Evansville. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery Brooklyn Wisconsin. Condolences may be expressed at wardhurtley.com
