MADISON - Robert (Bob) Gordon Rabehl, age 87, of Madison, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023, in Madison. He was born on March 31, 1936 in Waupun, WI, the son of Elnore Rabehl. He married Linda Koepke on August 3, 1968 in Madison.
Bob had a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and spent his career working as a tax auditor at the Wisconsin Department of Revenue until his retirement in 1997. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and playing tennis with family and friends. After retirement he worked at the Madison West YMCA and volunteered with the Dane County Humane Society, where he loved playing with and taking care of the cats.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Koepke) Rabehl; sons: Richard (Rick) and Roger; and brother, Thomas (Tom) Woodworth of Pewaukee, WI. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elnore Rabehl; and stepfather, Arnold "Doc" Keland.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2023, at Cress Funeral Home (Speedway Road, Madison) followed immediately by an 11:00 a.m. service. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery (Madison).
