Roger Mann

1941 - 2025

Roger Mann, husband, father, news director, anchorman and digital newscaster, died Monday, September 22, at his home in Orlando, Fla. after a battle with cancer. He was 84. He was surrounded with love at his end, with his wife Judy and other members of his family by his side.

Born and raised in Milwaukee, Roger was the only child of Ruth and Adrian. He and Judy met as teenagers at a church camp. The result was a 66-year, love-filled marriage.

Roger's broadcast journalism career began in radio at WTMJ in Milwaukee with stints at WEMP and WISN radio. His television broadcast career began in Madison, Wisc. at WKOW after which followed career moves throughout the country. His great professional joy came from his time in Madison leading WKOW's efforts with the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Muscular Dystrophy Telethons. He and Judy also led group trips to Hawaii which remained a favorite location and provided them with treasured friendships and memories. In his 70s, he returned to journalism with AC Business Media, producing and anchoring a regular digital newscast: The Construction News Tracker.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Kristine (Warren) Flitcroft, Karen (Dennis -deceased) Lanham, Kathleen (Gary) Boyer, David (Ashley Bodmer), and Kimberly; along with his cherished grandchildren, Claire (Sam), Lindsey, Kayla, Danielle (Tyson), Jessica (Connor), and Matt (Jennifer); his great-grandsons, Dylan, Henry, and Benjamin; step great-grandsons, Wesson and Stetson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He never stopped trying, working, loving, tinkering, improving, and caring. His lesson to his kids: always leave with a kiss and hug.
