Roger William Renz
August 13, 1945 - May 19, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Roger William Renz, on May 19, 2024, after a brief yet courageous fight against pancreatic cancer.
Born in Madison, WI, on August 13, 1945, Roger was a lifelong Sun Prairie resident, residing during his formative years on his family's dairy farm and graduating from Sun Prairie High School in 1963. On June 28, 1969, he married Barbara Delaney at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Roger worked for nearly four decades for Oscar Mayer Foods in Madison. He was an avid auto racing fan and summer Sunday nights were reserved for attending the races at Angell Park Speedway. He loved snowmobiling, watching Wisconsin sports teams, and attending his grandchildren's events. Roger was friendly, quick to smile, and a skilled storyteller, all of which his loved ones will miss dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara; three children: Chris (Kellie), Shannon (David) Zenobi, and Chad (Taylor); four sisters: Marilyn (Randy) Leifheit, Janice (Tim) Noll, Jeanne (Harlan) Fox, and Susan Freidel; eight grandchildren: Annika Renz; Lydia, Weston, and Owen Zenobi; and Sonya, Beau, Ray, and Elizabeth Renz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Beatrice (Klubertanz); brother and sister-in-law, John and Mary; and an infant brother.
Memorial contributions can be made to Agrace Hospice, to whom the family offers grateful recognition for the incredible, compassionate care they offered during Roger's final days and allowed him to fulfill his wish of passing at home.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 2420 St. Albert the Great Dr., with Fr. Vince Brewer presiding. Visitation will occur from 9:00 AM until Mass begins. Burial will take place at Sacred Hearts Catholic Cemetery. A luncheon at The Colonial Club's Cremer Auditorium (301 Blankenheim Ln, Sun Prairie) will follow the burial.

to my 2nd cousin Roger, time goes back when I knew you better as my cousin when I was in high school in S P. Your smile lit up a room which I will never forget. Memories of your passion at Angell Park Speedway had you & I seated in our usual bleachers at the track. I would turn around there, and there you were. I love you cousin. God bless you.
