Brandt, Samantha Windsong
STURGEON BAY/MAZOMANIE - Samantha Windsong Brandt, age 35, of Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (Mazomanie), tragically died unexpectedly on Dec. 25, 2021. There are no words or answers. She was born in Madison, Wis. on Sept. 29, 1986, the daughter of Lisa (Sinnott) Brandt and Thomas Brandt. She grew up in Mazomanie and attended Wisconsin Heights High School.
Sam was a carefree wild child growing up with her brother Colin, spending summer days at Devil's Lake swimming, snorkeling and rock climbing. She participated in just about every school sport known to mankind and loved to meet her friends at Rookies after school or practice. Sam relocated to Door County and fell in love with the area and the people. She was a hard worker and quickly found employment, most recently at the Carrington Pub and Grill at The Landmark Resort where she was well respected and loved.
While in Door County she attended and graduated from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, with a degree in Business Management, emphasis in Entrepreneurship. She immediately put her learning to work as an entrepreneur, creating her own business of a food shanty, Sam's Silver Spoon. She loved being outside, the four seasons, and spending time at one of her favorite places, beautiful Cave Point County Park near Jacksonport, Door County. She spent time on the water in Door County, boating with friends and family or relaxing on shore. She was an adventurer even as a young girl, traveling to California in a renovated school bus with her Aunt Lauren, then taking a road trip herself, driving her Cadillac out to California and back. Samantha was very talented and spent many hours creating artwork with her grandmother Audrey, as well as art projects with her friends. Samantha was a free spirit, loved to ride and owned several motorcycles: simply an extension of her vitality, fearlessness and joie de vivre. Along with motorcycles, she appreciated cool cars and car shows where she sometimes modeled with her friends. She had a great love for animals, growing up with dogs, cats, bunnies, and birds. Her current fur babies were Nancy (cat), and Daphne (dog). For some reason, she loved Hello Kitty too. She was an amazing, fascinating, beautiful young woman who left this world too soon, leaving a void as big as the sky. There are no words to express how much we will miss her…. her smile, her attitude to jump in with both feet, and her sassy repartee.
Samantha is survived by her parents, Lisa Brandt (Rick Onasch) and Thomas Brandt (Sharon Blum); her brother, Jeff Brandt (Santhia); grandmother, Audrey Sinnott; aunts, Katy Sinnott (Eric) and Lauren Sinnott; uncles, Phillip Brandt and Tim Bakken; dear family friend, Kevin Bergeron; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Samantha was preceded in death by her brother, Colin Brandt; grandfather, Dickinson Sinnott; grandparents Ronald and Dolores Brandt.
Due to current circumstances, including COVID-19, a Memorial will be delayed. However, once arrangements are made, the Brandt family will provide details. Prior to the Memorial, written condolences may be sent (if desired) to the family in the care of to: Lisa Brandt, 9233 Gorst Road, Mazomanie Wis., 53560.
A quote that Sam liked: The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well. -Ralph Waldo Emerson. Our beloved Samantha, you have made a difference in this world, as evidenced by the many that love you and have now lost a piece of their heart.
Our beautiful girl, your flame will never be extinguished. Rather, your light has traveled to the sun and is now intertwined with your loved ones that also left us too soon… Colin, Nicole, and Tiffany.
