Scott "Scooter" Alvin Showers
April 28, 1956 - April 24, 2023
MIDDLETON/MADISON - Scott "Scooter" Alvin Showers of Middleton/Madison, WI, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on Monday, April 24, 2023, in Madison. He was born April 28, 1956, the son of Russell and Alvina (Lahann) Showers.
Scott grew up on the Showers Family Farm in the Town of Cross Plains, WI. He graduated from Middleton High School with the class of 1974 and had maintained many friendships from that time on. After high school he worked for Hoffman Chemical Company until he purchased his first dump truck and... he was hooked. He worked as an owner/operator driving for C.A. Brumm Trucking/Bullet Transit Co. Inc. until his retirement with his last truck still in operation... Good old B9. He enjoyed snowmobiling, riding his Harleys and just hanging out with his lifelong friends. Recently Scott and some of his retired buddies would meet on Wednesday afternoons for a few beers and to shoot the bull. (And we all know how they liked to shoot the bull!)
Scott married the love of his life and best friend Christine Cimino; they spent 20 years together, 18 in marriage. They enjoyed time taking road trips to quilt auctions, antiquing, occasionally a casino or just driving down old back roads sightseeing. Some of the most enjoyable times were spent at home working on jigsaw puzzles, watching TV and visiting with their neighbors. One of his favorite things to do was to sit on the front porch waiting for the neighborhood dogs who regularly came to visit him.
Scott is survived by his wife, Christine Cimino of Madison, WI; his aunt, Arlene Walter of Advance, NC; his brother-in-law, James Cimino of Fulsom, CA; his Schumann, Haak and Lahann cousins; and many, many great friends.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; his uncle, Wilber Lahann; and his brother-in-law, John Cimino.
A Celebration of Scott's Life will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Paul's Neighborhood Bar, 2401 Parmenter St, Middleton, WI. Come and share your favorite "Scooter" story or special memory. Per Scott's wishes there will be no formal service.
