Steven (Steve) Clifford Bass

MADISON/PORT ORANGE, FL - Steven (Steve) Clifford Bass, 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on March 10, 2024, in Daytona Beach, FL.

Steve was born in Rice Lake, WI, to Clifford and Dorothy (Atwater) Bass on April 22, 1949. He attended Barron High School and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. While in college, he met the love of his life and best friend, Kathy. They would have celebrated their fifty-fourth wedding anniversary on March 14, 2024.

After college Steve became a financial advisor with BC Ziegler & Co.(now Stifel) and worked in both the LaCrosse and Madison offices. He felt lucky to have found a profession which he loved for over forty years.

He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan and especially enjoyed UW-basketball and football and the Green Bay Packers. His love of golf was a great excuse to spend time with his best buddies and in the evenings he could often be found with an a very dry martini with two blue cheese olives in hand.

Steve was a loving and dedicated husband, a proud and patient dad and grandpa and a kind and generous friend. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy of Madison and Port Orange, FL; his daughter, Angie of Madison, and his daughter, Melissa; and granddaughter, Eden, of Oxford, MS. He's further survived by his brother, Jerry Bass (Ellie) of Port Orange, FL; and his sister, Pat Sam (Ron) of Fort Myers, FL; many beloved nieces and nephews and dear friends who were family to him. Steve's wishes were for no funeral or memorial service. A gathering of friends and family may be held later.
