Virginia Rake
July 4, 1934 - August 13, 2025
Virginia "Ginny" Rake, age 91, died on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at The Meadows Of Fall River. Ginny was born on July 4, 1934 to Peter and Rose (Schreiner) Holbach in Atwater, Wisconsin.
Ginny married Gene on June 11, 1955. Her life's goal was to have a large family and boy did she accomplish that with raising seven wonderful children on the family farm. Anyone who knew her loved the "Ginny Giggle". She loved to travel and went to places like Australia, Tahiti, Europe, Las Vegas, Florida and our family favorite, Green Lake. She had such a great love for her family and especially loved attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's events. She always showed non judgemental and unconditional love to her family. Ginny was an avid Packers fan and enjoyed the many family Packer parties.
Survivors include her five children, Cathy Schultz of Columbus, Diane Munz of Stoughton, Kim Guerrieri of Columbus, Jim (Kara) Rake of Columbus and Lisa (Mike) Smith of Fall River; 14 grandchildren, Matthew Munz, Stephanie (Allan) Orlofske, Collin Munz (Christina Fluegel), Ashley Guerrieri (Marcus Statz), Mariah (Remington) Lindell, Megan Rake, Corey (Shannon) Rake, Nicole (Phillip) McConnell, Seth (Colene) Williams, Chris (Robyn) Rake, Dustin (Kali) Shepard, Jacob Smith, Sidney Smith and Will Smith; 14 great grandchildren, Anthony, Kaden, Tres, Bella, Adam, Oliver, Juda, Idella, Levi, Maddie, Edison, Maverick, Lilah, River; sisters-in-law, Jean Holbach, Ida Holbach, Lorraine Miller and Lola Seed; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Ginny is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene in 2020; daughter, Lori in 2011; son, Scott in 2022; eight siblings, Henry (Florence) Holbach, Rosella (Herbert) Frey, Wilfred Holbach, Florence (Eddie) Kovalaske, Lauretta (Leroy) Peters, Melvin (Millie) Holbach, Richard (Shirley/Agnes) and Edward Holbach.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at St. Jerome Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery, Columbus.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jerome Catholic Church or Generations Hospice.
