Julian Frederick "Butch" Rake Jr.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Julian "Butch" F. Rake, Jr., known to many as the "oldest teenager of Barrett Township", on February 11, 2026, at the age of 79. He is survived by brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and a huge community of friends who were family to him.

Butch was a proud lifelong fixture of Barrett Township, a place he loved deeply and knew like the back of his hand. He was the kind of man who would do anything for anyone-no questions asked, no credit needed. His kindness, loyalty, and generous spirit touched countless lives. Whether you needed help, a laugh, or just someone to stand beside you, Butch was there. He will be remembered for his quiet presence, his warm heart, and his unwavering willingness to lend a hand.

Butch also had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor that kept everyone on their toes. His many Facebook profiles became legendary, and we can only hope that at least a few of them have finally made it out of "Facebook jail". His posts-sometimes questionable, often hilarious, and always uniquely "Butchie"-brought laughter and connection to so many. Barrett Township won't be quite the same without his commentary on the day's events.

Butch leaves behind a legacy of friendship, laughter, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
