His medical career included time at Riley Hospital for Children, Mayo Clinic and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he served as Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics from 1974-1985. Bill touched thousands of learners, patients and families through his research, mentoring and clinical care. Upon retirement, Bill and Julie were able to travel and see the world.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his sons, Douglas (Doris) and Jeffrey (Ellen) Segar; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Combat Blindness International or the children's charity of your choice.
