Ann Pratt Allen
December 31, 1954 - February 16, 2021
Ann Allen, beloved daughter, wife, grandma, mother, sister and friend to all, passed away suddenly on February 16, 2021. Ann was born December 31, 1954, in Jerome, Idaho, to William Parker Pratt Jr. and Virginia Mae Adams Pratt. Ann was the fifth of six kids. As the baby sister of the family, Ann was dotted on and adored by the entire family. All the siblings remained tightknit their entire lives. Ann, sadly, lost her father to a heart attack when she was just 23 and she loved and served her mother until she passed at 89. Ann is the first sibling to be reunited with her parents.
Ann's life, both in childhood and throughout, was spent in complete dedication to her family and her faith. She attended and graduated from Twin Falls High School, where she was involved with cheerleading, softball and roller-skating. While still in high school, Ann attended institute through CSI, where she first peaked over the hymnbook to catch a glimpse of her sweetheart and love of her life, Alvin Allen. Alvin wasted no time and they were engaged before Ann even graduated high school. Alvin and Ann were married Aug. 20, 1973, in the Salt Lake Temple. Their love and devotion for each other has become an example to emulate.
Ann and Alvin welcomed six children to their life on the farm. Ann was a devoted mother to all six. She was a constant anchor in their lives and never missed a single event or important moment. She continued that same devotion and attention to each spouse and grandchild that joined the family. She and Alvin would travel many hours to attend recitals, school plays, sporting events and more. She could always be found cuddling a grandchild while reading them a story or playing card games. Extended family also knew Alvin and Ann's house as the heart of almost all family memories.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ann had unwavering faith and served in many different capacities. Most recently, Ann and Alvin served a local mission at the Bishop's Storehouse and as temple workers at the Twin Falls Temple. She was one of the first to volunteer to serve anyone in need. Ann was a pillar of kindness, patience, love and sincerity. She touched the lives of many.
We will miss her scaring our dad any chance she got, the "love you lots" written at the end of every card sent, her personalized, thoughtful gifts, the traditional Halloween and Easter cookie packages, her hugs and her standing at the door waving goodbye until she could no longer see our cars.
We take comfort in knowing she won't let anything stop her serving and loving her family, not even death. The family is extremely appreciative of the overwhelming outpouring of love and support. It is a validation of all the lives she touched with her love.
Ann is survived by her adoring husband, Alvin; her children Shawn (Natalie) Allen, Scott (Nicole) Allen, Sam (Emilee) Allen, Tim (Laura) Allen, Katie (Dustin) Portela, and Kristin(Jeff) Sanchez; her 24 grandchildren; her brothers Jim (Lori) Pratt and Chris (Sharon) Pratt; and her sisters Lawana Palmer, Marie Bryant, and Jane Page.
Funeral services will be held 11am Friday, February 26, 2021, at the Twin Falls South Stake Center, 541 Orchard Drive, with Bishop Blake Manwaring officiating. The family will host a viewing from 6-8pm Thursday at the Whites/Reynolds funeral home, 2466 Addison Ave East, and at the stake center one hour prior to the funeral services Friday. Burial will follow at the Filer Cemetery. Service will be live streamed and located at whitereynoldschapel.com on Ann's obituary page, under the photo and video tab and click on the webcast.

To the Family of Ann: I was so sad to see that Ann had passed away. I knew Ann when she came to Curves almost every day. Ann was a kind sweet person; I missed her after I sold my interest in Curves but I did run into her occasionally in Town. Please except my sincere condolences(heaven gained a wonderful, loving, kind Angel.
