Chris Caraway
Oct. 21, 1957 - Feb. 2, 2023
BUHL - Our dear friend Chris passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully at his beloved farm in Buhl on February 2, 2023.
He was raised in southern California where he loved to surf, ski and go on adventures with his friends. He first came to Idaho in 1985 to work in Telecommunications for a short time. He later returned as he loved Idaho and the people he met in the area, so he bought a small farm near Buhl in 1992.
His career took him many places around the country until he was finally able to move permanently back to Buhl.
He had close friends in the area and in other states that he cared very much for and was always there to help those close to him.
He loved pets, especially cats, and cared for lost and stray animals that he came across. In fact his desire in life seemed to be one to help and serve others.
He will be greatly missed by his friends and others he touched in the community.

I have great memories of calling Chris at night when I was a freshman in high school to get his help with complex math homework.
He also made me and my brother laugh about the stories he told of him and my dad doing dumb things when they were kids.

Chris brought a lot of light and love into our lives during a very dark time.
My daughters and I still talk about the adventures that Chris took us on. He was always planning a hike or a days getaway to our local mountains. He had the biggest heart, and was one of the most patient and kindest souls I´ve ever known. My daughter Sheila still has his longboard from his surfing days displayed in her home all these years later. I´m so happy to know He finally made it to his ranch in Idaho that he dreamed of. Rest in peace my friend.

Rest in Peace Chris. I always thought we would watch some sports together again and drink some beers. Enjoy watching the games on God's big screen. I'm in shock, I'm sad and I miss you. The world needs more Chris Caraway's.

Chris and I were best friends ever since we met over 50 years ago in 7th grade.
No matter where life and careers took us to different parts of the country we always met up for adventures and good times.
I'm going to miss you buddy and thanks for everything you have done for me and others around us that we have known.
Your pal, Barry

Harkin was so good. He loved my whole family and we loved him greatly. I´ll never forgot the fun we all had eating cookies and cream ice cream or going to miracle hot springs. He will forever be a solid role model and source of love for us.
