Christopher Kyle Gibson passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, surrounded by family at home in Hagerman, Idaho. He was 75 years old. He died after a diagnosis of mesothelioma in late 2024.

Chris was a lifelong educator, first of special education students in Southern California and Idaho and eventually serving as the director of technology for Jerome School District. An avid gardener and fan of sports, particularly baseball, he enjoyed watching his sons play and keeping up with the teams his children supported.

Chris is survived by his wife, Jennie of Hagerman, Idaho; his children, Will Gibson of Boise, Idaho; Marie Gibson of Seattle, Wash.; Hank (Olivia) Gibson of Emmett, Idaho; and Richard Gibson (Maria, fiancée) of Seattle, Wash.; his four grandchildren; and his brother, Mike (Kathy) Gibson.

Chris and the Gibson family have always been a pleasure to call friends. Chris had an amazing sense of humor and a very giving spirit. Prayers to Jennie and the family, we will miss Chris and his smirky smile!!!

I was deeply saddened to hear about Chris´s passing. He was an amazing mentor to me. As a technology teacher at Jerome Middle School, I always admired how quickly he responded to any issues I faced in my classroom. Whether it was a technical glitch or a bigger problem, Chris was always there with a solution and, of course, his signature witty humor. I learned so much from him, not just about technology, but about how to approach challenges with patience and a positive attitude. He will be greatly missed, but his kindness and support will never be forgotten. My prayers and condolences to his family.

Thank you for being a mentor and friend to Linka. She whole heartedly enjoyed and appreciated the wonderful atmosphere she could study in peace with Chris and Jennie. I think there were times she preferred your home over her own, which made me grateful that we have wonderful friends like the two of you. Chris´s sense of humor will be missed. He always had me smiling or laughing with his ever so true side comments!!!

Chris will be missed. He had a quick wit and always made me laugh. But above all, he raised a great family and made a positive impact on those around him.
Much love from the McClimans
