Christopher Voss Obituary

Christopher Carl Voss

October 2, 1975 - April 27, 2021

Christopher Carl Voss, 45, of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away on April 27, 2021, in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Chris was born to adoring parents Linda and Larry Voss on October 2, 1975, as their first and only child. Chris attended Clover Lutheran School until 8th grade and graduated from Castleford High School in May of 1994. He then went on to earn a BS in Ag Science at the University of Idaho in May 2000.

Two weeks after his college graduation, Chris married the love of his life and best friend, Anissa, at Lighthouse Christian Fellowship in Twin Falls. They celebrated 20 years together last May. They have four beautiful children (Christa, Cassidy, Jackson, and Addison) and have welcomed and cared for many dogs and cats throughout the years.

Chris worked for Seneca Foods for 25 years all the way up until his death and it was the only job he ever held. He loved his job with all of his heart and all the wonderful people he worked with throughout the years. He started as a corn picker, then worked as a crew lead mechanic, later as a Field Man, and finally a Seed Superintendent which kept him employed even when the entire plant dissolved and left him as the only remaining full-time employee in Buhl. He was crushed to have to sit out this season as it was the only growing season he'd miss in his life. It was more than a job to him, it was his life.

Chris was an active member of Twin Falls Reformed Church, where he served as a Deacon, attended the Men's Group, and participated in the Wednesday night classes. He also sat on the Board of Directors at the Valley Vista Village Senior Living for 10 years and at the Balanced Rock Soil Conservation District for the last 3 years. In his free time, Chris enjoyed camping with his family, fishing, woodworking, and leatherwork. He was always finding new hobbies and skills to learn.

Chris showed his love through his humor and could make anyone laugh. His jokes and sarcastic banter leave thousands of fond memories and stories that will be shared for years to come. But most prominently, Chris is remembered for his Godly love and wisdom. Anyone who knew him knows he always took the extra step for anyone around him without a second thought. His legacy of kindness and Christ-like attitude will be carried on in everyone who was touched by his actions.

Chris is survived by his wife, Anissa, children Christa, Cassidy, Jackson, Addison, and his mother, Linda Voss. He also leaves behind his cherished aunts and uncles, Roger & Sandra Hieb, Bob & Judy Barga, Carmel Stout, Dixie Howard, and in-laws Don & Carla Bonnes, Darren & Cara Bonnes Family, and Dan & Shelley Bonnes Family, as well as many beloved cousins who reside out of state, those traveling include Ken & Martha Brown and Richard & Holly Stout. Chris is preceded in death by his father Larry Voss, grandparents, and aunts and uncles.

Chris will have a viewing at Reynolds Funeral Chapel on May 2, 2021, from 5-7 pm, a graveside service at West End Cemetery on May 3, 2021, at 10:00 am, and a Memorial Service at Twin Falls Reformed Church on May 3, 2021, at 11:30 am.

Our prayers and sincere sympathy to the Chris Voss family. Chris was a blessing to Clover Trinity Lutheran School. He used his welding skills to construct iron screens to protect the windows in the school gym. When Chris was offered reimbursement for his labor, he refused, stating, “I want to give back to the school that gave me so much.” We will never forget his giving and generous heart. Well done thou good and faithful servantenter into the joy of the Lord. Matthew 25:21

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. As a young man Chris was a son any parent would be proud to have. He was always smiling and polite. He was so proud to get married and have his twins. He will be missed by all, but left many good memories.
