FILER - Daniel Edward Schnoebelen, 69, of Filer, ID, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024, at St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center.

Daniel Edward Schnoebelen was born December 21, 1954, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Vern and Sondra (Kline) Schnoebelen. He graduated from City High in Iowa City in 1973, briefly attended University of Iowa, and worked for the Corps of Engineers before marrying Kelli Rogness in 1982 and moving to Twin Falls, Idaho, where they had their only perfect son, Drew. Following their divorce, Dan met his partner JoAnn Conner while working in Jackpot, Nevada.
Dan and JoAnn have built a wonderful life together for the last 29 years. They were a perfect couple. A quiet reader and an avid golfer. Dan embraced JoAnn's children, Jeremy and Chelsey, and his grandson, Grayson, as his own, and they loved him deeply for it.
Dan worked maintenance for the Filer School District for 26 years and took great pride in the school grounds and the schools themselves.
Dan's interests and hobbies defined who he was and helped him deeply enjoy his life. He was a devoted Iowa Hawkeyes fan like his father before him and enjoyed fishing and cards. But more than just about anything in this world, Dan loved the game of golf. There was rarely a day, rain or shine, when you wouldn't find Dan on the golf course, and his yearly golf trips with his friends to Mesquite were among his favorite moments. Dan spent 50 years chasing the ever-elusive hole-in-one, and in April of 2024, he finally achieved it on hole 14 at Twin Falls Golf Course.
He is survived by his son, Drew Schnoebelen (Sarah) of Worcester, MA, his partner, JoAnn Conner of Twin Falls, ID, her children: Chelsey Curry and Jeremy Conner, and his grandson, Grayson, Dan's siblings: Deborah Lee (Peter) of King George, VA, and Jim Schnoebelen (Julie) of Cedar Rapids, IA; and his nieces and nephews: Ann (Nate), Zachary, Joy and Grant Schnoebelen.
Dan's legacy will live on through the love he shared, while friends and family will hold dear the memories with him and keep working on their golf game in his honor.
