Doris Mary Lundstrom
March 3, 1952 - January 9, 2022
There are no words to describe the life and times, and our love for, our amazing friend Dee Hinkle.
Doris Mary Lundstrom came into this world on March 3rd, 1952, to parents Arthur and Anna (Stremke) Lundstrom in Cumberland Wisconsin. Along with older sister Joyce Lundstrom Dutton, and younger brothers Dean and Norman Lundstrom, Dee attended school in Luck, Wisconsin. In the early 1970s, Dee and her sister moved to Las Vegas Nevada, where she met and married Ed Hinkle and had a daughter, Nikki. They later divorced. Dee worked in real estate for a time, going to school to learn the trade, and also worked at a Safeway grocery store.
Soon she met a charming cowboy and followed him to Idaho, where she settled in Hollister. She started working at Cactus Pete's in Jackpot as a cocktail server and worked for them for 38 years. She and Harrold worked cows and rode the range, the cowboy life being some of her happiest times, often saying she was a cowgirl at heart, and a cocktail server by necessity! She and Harrold also spent quite a bit of time in Jarbidge, NV, where his family had a cabin on Bear Creek.
Dee is survived by her sister, brothers, and daughter Nikki Hinkle with children Jordan, Brianna, Isaiah, and Kayden. Also daughter Chianna Hinkle (28), Josh Davis (32), great-grandchildren Dontay Palomo Jr. (11), Skilyanna Palomo (8), Layla Driesel( 6), and Drax Davis (3) along with numerous friends and colleagues, some near, some far (Canada)
Those of us fortunate enough to know her were rewarded daily with a big smile and a generous dose of positivity, from teaching the new gals the ropes, to kibitzing with guests old and new (you all know who you are). Vacations to Wisconsin brought us all maple syrup (from her maple trees), Wisconsin cheese, and Leinenkugel beer. Some lucky friends even have lilac bushes from Dee's family farm!
Dee passed away peacefully on January 9, 2022, in Filer Idaho surrounded by her loved ones.
Dee was our nucleus, holding all us gals together through thick and thin, rain and shine, happy times and sad.
Being friends with Dee Hinkle was the easiest thing we ever did. She was the keeper of our secrets, and they are still safe to this day.
A celebration of life for Dee will be held at Cactus Pete's in Jackpot Nevada, on Tuesday, January 25th, from 7 PM until 8:30 PM.

I´m so so sorry to hear this! With myself being a "frequent flyer" at Cactus Pete´s for 30+ years, Dee was truly one of the reasons that made my stays there so much fun! I can honestly say I never saw her without a big smile and she genuinely cared for you and truly wanted to know how you were doing! We had many great conversations!
I will miss you greatly, Dee! God Bless!!!
