Lanny King Obituary
September 23, 1945 - September 11, 2024
Lanny Layne King a 78 year old resident of Idaho Falls passed away Wednesday, September 11th at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Lanny graduated in 1963 from Burley High School he then continued his education at the University of Idaho achieving his BS in computer science in 1989. He worked in the banking industry for many years he then pursued his career for INEEL putting his degree to work. He married Pamala Ramsey in 1973 and after many good years went their separate ways. His life forever changed in 2007 when his love for darts led him to an even greater love for Dorthey Roberts he soon became a father figure to her 5 children Kyle, Daniel (Nichole), Alex, Kim, and Dustin. He loved being a Grandpa to their 7 grandchildren Serenity, Nicholas, Taylee, Stetson, Peighton, Kendall and Andrea. He had a passion for music playing in his band for many years. Lanny was amazing at darts and loved to travel. He was a lifetime member of the Elks as well as the Eagles and was a dedicated member of the Civil Air Patrol.
He is survived by his love Dorthey Roberts. His Nephew's Christopher Spevak (Robin) and Curtis Spevak (Zadell) as well as a Niece Stephanie Faure King.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Leonard and Ernestine King as well as his sister Lajean Spevak and her husband Louis Spevak.
A graveside service will be held on September 27th 11 a.m. at Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley ID.
